This is an incredibly rare piece of Canadian History - a Vintage Quebec Coat Of Arms Shield Bookend cast of solid brass and mounted on solid wood that is stained Ox Blood red, will make a great addition to any decor.
These pieces were Government issued, limited to and from ranking members under the employ of the party.
NEVER INTENDED FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC!

The symbolism of the shield is divided into three horizontal fields:

  • Top — three fleurs-de-lis symbolizing royal France
  • Middle — a lion symbolizing the Kingdom of England
  • Bottom — three maple leaves symbolizing Canada
The shield is surmounted by the Tudor Crown and accompanied by a scroll bearing the province's motto, Je me souviens (French for "I remember"). It may be paraphrased as conveying the meaning "We do not forget, and will never forget, our ancient lineage, traditions and memories of all the past".
No manufacturing stamp - exact production date and/or company unknown.
Great vintage patina - just the way we like'em! A must for any man-cave, bar/tavern/pub, garage, game room, lady den - Home and/or office.
