Pay homage to "El Presidente", one of the greatest Major League Baseball pitchers of all time Dennis Martinez with this Hand-Signed photo signed by baseball legend, Dennis Martinez himself.
In 1976, Dennis Martínez became the first Nicaraguan to play in the big leagues – and he remains by far the most successful. His 245 major-league wins stood for more than 20 years as the most by any Latino pitcher, two ahead of Juan Marichal. (Bartolo Colón finally broke that record in August 2018.) His single most outstanding performance came on July 28, 1991, when he pitched the 13th perfect game in Major League Baseball history, blanking the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-0 at Dodger Stadium. A native of Granada, Nicaragua, Martínez became the first pitcher born outside of the United States to pitch a perfect game. After completing the perfect game, Martínez slowly walked into the Dodger Stadium dugout, sat down by himself and cried. The perfect game is the last of four no-hitters in Montreal Expos history.
